PRODUCTS We develop, produce and supply:
Wehberg Safety GmbH has had more than four decades of experience in the manufacture of bursting elements to provide protection against overpressures. Most of our products are special designs which we develop, test and manufacture to meet the individual needs of our customers. However, we also offer a range of standard products which only differs according to the material which is used, the bursting pressure and the rated width, in accordance with the customer’s requirements. Our standard offer comprises the following types of bursting discs: 1. Bursting disc assemblies This type is suitable for small rated widths and low bursting pressures. Normally, extremely thin nickel foils are used. The bursting pressures can be from 10 to 600 bar. One special advantage of bursting discs assemblies is their self-sealing construction. There is no need for an additional sealing ring.
2a. Flat bursting discs These types are ideal for small rated widths and for bursting pressures between 120 and 300 bar. Both bursting discs and bursting caps have been used for decades in fire extinguishers, pumps, equipment and systems which are subject to pressure.
2b. Bursting caps
3a. Bursting plugs - DGBM The bursting plug shown here is an independent bursting unit which can be fitted in containers and pipe systems without additional valves. An opening in the thread fitted with a sealing ring is sufficient to achieve the required level of safety. Wehberg Safety GmbH has registered these products and designs.
3b. Bursting plugs – soldered and pressed The bursting disc is soldered into or onto a screw fitting, or pressed together with a copper ring which also acts as a sealing ring.
5. Bursting discs Bursting discs with foil made out of aluminium foil, PE or PTFE for low pressures. With diameters between 14 and 21 mm are primarily used to prevent media such as powders or liquids from escaping from containers, although they burst when required, for example to allow powder to escape when a fire extinguisher is used. They are made of aluminium, brass or POM plastics.
